Tomizawa Shoten was founded in 1919 in Machida, Tokyo, and has grown into a trusted confectionery and baking ingredients retailer with around 80 stores across Japan. Known for its focus on quality and freshness, it offers over 8,500 products—from flours, sugars, and chocolates to baking tools, wrapping materials, spices, nuts, and dried fruits. The company operates its own factories and warehouses and maintains strict quality control from sourcing to packaging and delivery.

The closest store to our classroom is on the 8th floor of the Keio Department Store, right next to Shinjuku Station’s West Exit.

Kappabashi Street is a famous shopping street in Tokyo, located between Ueno and Asakusa. It is known as “Kitchen Town” because it has many shops selling kitchen tools, tableware, and restaurant supplies. It is a great place for both professionals and home cooks.

Majimaya 馬嶋屋 (Map No.43)

Majimaya, founded in 1951 as the successor to the oldest confectionery tool store in Kanda’s Manseibashi, has become a premier specialist shop for sweet mold and baking tools in Tokyo’s Kappabashi tool district. One of its most iconic features is the “Cookie Tower”—a stunning central display showcasing over 3,000 cookie cutters, creatively arranged around the store’s atrium and staircase. The store carries a vast selection—over 1,700 standard cutters, custom shapes, baking stamps, machinery for sweets and bread.

Asai Shoten 浅井商店 (Map No.49)

Asai Shoten is a long-established shop founded in 1895, known for its history and trust, even serving the Imperial Household.
